My favourite colour is lilac so when i found a reference image of a lilac butterfly wings, I knew exactly what i wanted to create. This work express my love for butterfly, dragon and lilac! It was a challenge to sculpt the shape of the dragon body so I used crushed newspaper instead to form the basic shapes. I then used a mix of clay and plaster to wrap over to create the final form of the body. My Butterfly dragon is seen wearing a checkered mask since now we are still battling Covid-19. I remembered learning about a giant red flower called Rafflesia so I decided to include it in my work as well.
